Biography:
Aragorn is the son of Arathorn the
Second, who is killed in battle when Aragron was still young, and so
his mother sends him to live at Rivendell, the house of Elrond. There he
grows up, and Elrond gives him the name Estel, meaning hope. One day
whilst wandering the gardens there, he comes across Arwen, daughter of
Elrond half-elven. He thinks he has strayed into a dream, and instantly
falls in love with her. However, Elrond is not pleased with the
match, as Aragorn is only a mortal, and says that Arwen should
not wed any man less than king of Gondor.
Aragorn leaves Rivendell and goes wandering over the lands of Middle-Earth as a ranger, and one of the Dúnadain.
In his travels, he meets Gandalf, and they become good friends, and
Aragorn helps Gandalf track down Gollum in Mirkwood.
At the Inn of the Prancing Pony, he meets
Frodo and his hobbit friends as they journey to Rivendell, fleeing the
Black Riders. He helps them on their journey, and saves them from much
peril. At the Council of Elrond, he announces that he will become one
of the Fellowship of the Ring.
During the long journeys of the
Fellowship, Aragorn's knowledge of the land proves invaluable. However,
when Gandalf is lost in Moria, he is not sure what to do, because he
does not know what Gandalf had planned. Despite this, he becomes the new
leader of the Fellowship, and takes the blame upon himself for the death
of Boromir.
When Frodo and Sam depart for Mordor,
he decides to journey with Legolas and Gimli after the orcs to try and
rescue Merry and Pippin, who have been taken. After many days tracking
the orcs in vain, he meets Eomer, of the Rohirrim, and follows them to
Rohan. From there, they journey with the Rohirrim and King Theoden, Lord
of the Mark, to a great battle at Helm's Deep.
He has many more journeys, including
another to Rohan, where the Lady Eowyn, niece of Theoden, falls in love
with him, and she is very distressed to see him go to the Paths of the
Dead. There, accompanied by Legolas, Gimli, and the
Dùnadain, he summons the dead kings to the Stone of Erech, and brings
his warriors to the battle at the Field of Pelennor.
After Sauron has been defeated, Aragorn
is crowned King of Gondor, and weds the Lady Arwen, who gives up her
immortality for him. Elrond and Galadriel come to the celebrations.

All that is gold does not
glitter,
Not all those who wander are
lost;
The old that is strong does not
wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the
frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be
woken,
A light from the shadows shall
spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was
broken,
The crownless again shall be
king.
